August 17 Klosterdal and Tasermiut Fjord

This morning we navigated into Klosterdal, a deep valley surrounded by towering, jagged mountains.

The views from our balcony were magnificent and the day rather idyllic. Outside the fjord there was a howling gale so after lunch the Captain took the ship to the end of the Tarsemiut Fjord and those who could, wandered looking at vegetation and surrounding rocks. It was quite dense along the valley.
In this and other posts you will encounter quite a few images of clouds. I don’t know enough about clouds to explain what I was seeing. I simply wanted to share with you the beauty of the sky wrapped around magnificent terrestrial features.
While people were ashore they did an emergency drill. That entails searching all cabins for passengers, operationalising all equipment including lowering the life boat etc etc. I watched from the window.
That afternoon a number of the passengers did the Polar Plunge; we were expecting to do this but were confined to our cabin – drats! There will be another opportunity when we head to Antarctica - I hope!
